From Wave Rock car park, we drove for 2 minutes to another car park where another rock called "Hippo's Yawn" is located. The rock's resemblance to a yawning hippopotamus led to its name.
Hippo’s Yawn is about 12.6 metres (41 ft) tall. It consists of an unusually shaped granite tor that was formerly part of the larger outcrop. This is the second most visited site in Hyden. There is a 1km walking trail that connects Wave Rock and Hippo's Yawn.
