10 Jun 2024 - Tokyo Day 1: Café Capyba

Cafe Capyba is located within a residential neighborhood.  Without Google map, it will be a challenge to locate it.  Reservation in advance is essential to visit this cafe.  In fact, when we tried to make a reservation two weeks prior to our trip, all the slots were full.  Then few days before the trip, Tracy suddenly saw one slot for 4 people became available, immediately we made the reservation without any hesitation.
As we were early, the staff brought us to level 2 waiting area and at the same time, we kept our bags at the lockers.  When one group of visitors left, we then allowed to walk down to level 1 where the two capybaras were.
The Capybara, hailing from South America, is actually the world's largest rodent and holds the title of ultimate chill mammal.  These massive rodents can weigh up to 174 pounds and stretch over four feet in length.  Speaking of water, capybaras are practically semi-aquatic. They have webbed feet for paddling around in lakes, rivers, and swamps.
We were allowed to move freely within the area to touch the capybaras and take as many photos with them as we wish.
Though our stay at the cafe was only half an hour, it was very enjoyable to come so close to such amazing and chill animals.
Below was a short video that I took during our stay at the cafe.  I actually got pushed by one of the capybaras as seen at the end of the video.  These giant rodents were pretty strong...
