We woke up pretty early this morning to get ready for a full day of fun at Tokyo DisneySea. We took the metro from Ginza-Itchome Station to Shin-kiba Station, transferred to Keiyo Line for one stop to Maihama Station. From there, we took Disney Resort Line and finally reached DisneySea.
Tokyo DisneySea, the crown jewel of the Tokyo Disney Resort, is a one-of-a-kind theme park unlike any other Disney park in the world. Opened in 2001, this nautical-themed wonderland transports guests to seven unique ports, each brimming with adventure, fantasy, and Disney magic.Though today was a weekday, the whole park was still quite crowded. The moment we entered the park, we immediately used the Disney Resort app to get the 40th Anniversary Priority Pass and Standby Pass for some of the popular rides. Without the pass, we could not even enter certain zone, especially the newly opened Fantasy Springs zone.
Below building is the Tower of Terror which Jerlene and Javier said "NO"!
Our first ride was "Nemo and Friends SeaRider". Here we boarded the SeaRider, a submersible that “shrunk” to the size of a fish, and started our exploration of the wondrous world of marine life from the same point of view as Nemo and Dory.
We then had some snacks at a nearby cafe.
We entered the Mysterious Island zone and took the ride "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Here we boarded a submarine and explored an Ancient but Advanced civilization, Atlantis.
In the Lost River Delta zone, there was one very popular Indiana Jones ride but once again Javier said NO because it's a high-speed thrill ride.
Instead, we boarded the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line and had a fun waterway adventure.
At the Arabian Coast zone, we met Shaban, the "greatest magician in the world", at the Magic Lamp Theater. We continued to explore the rest of the park.
At the Mediterranean Harbor zone, we took the Leonardo Challenge where we followed the clues on a map to complete our mission in this Japanese-language game at Fortress Explorations. Yes, it's totally in Japanese but that did not stop us from successfully completed the mission.
Aquatopia was another fun ride where we boarded a watercraft for a whirling ride with unexpected turns.
To all of us, the most fun attraction here was none other than Toy Story Mania. Here we boarded a tram and played some fun carnival games with Woody, Buzz and their pals. Basically, it's a 3D shooter game.
We then went for a late lunch at Vulcania Restaurant before having Ice Cream treats.
Fantasy Springs is a newly opened zone and strictly requires a standby pass to enter into the zone. Fortunately, we managed to get the standby passes earlier in the day.
The standby passes that we got were for Rapunzel's Lantern Festival ride.
This attraction took us on a romantic boat ride that led to the annual Lantern Festival, where we experienced Rapunzel's "best day ever" as she fell in love with Flynn Rider and visited various locations featured in the film. Really beautiful.
After that, we went round exploring this new zone which consists of the Frozen Kingdom, Peter Pan's Never Land, Rapunzel's Forest and a new DisneySea Fantasy Spring Hotel right within this zone. After sunset, the entire theme park started to light up which presented us with a very different but beautiful views all around.
As we had so much fun earlier at the Toy Story Mania ride, we decided to do it again since the queue at that time was shorter.
The most disappointing moment of the day was when they announced that the cancellation of "Sky Full of Colors" fireworks show due to unfavorable weather condition. I was puzzled why it was cancelled because it was neither raining nor windy. Just a bit of scattered clouds but we could see the moon very clearly. Personally I suspected there could be some technical issues though the reason given was weather. Anyway, once the announcement was made, everyone started heading towards the park exit.
