After dinner, we walked to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for the daily light show. Soaring over Shinjuku like a metallic giant, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (TMG) is more than just a place where bureaucrats work. It's a complex of three structures, a testament to modern architecture, and a popular tourist destination offering panoramic views of the sprawling metropolis.
The light show uses the eastern facade of the TMG Building as a giant canvas, projecting a dazzling display of lights and images. The show runs daily except in cases of severe weather. Showtimes typically run from 7:00 pm to 9:15 pm on weekdays and 7:00 pm to 9:10 pm on weekends and public holidays.
Part of the light show was captured in the following video.
