12 Dec 2019 - Dubai Day 2: Motiongate Dubai

From Riverland, we followed the signage towards Motiongate Dubai, a Hollywood-inspired theme park.
Motiongate showcases themed areas and attractions based on DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures, Lionsgate, and The Smurfs.
I've read that this park will not be crowded during weekday and it is absolutely true.  To us, it was great as we did not have to queue for most of the rides.
First we visited the Smurfs Village.  We went on the Smurf Village Express Train, a junior roller coaster that meanders around the village.
Following that, we entered the Smurfberry Factory where crazy berries were flying all over the place.
Next we embarked on the Smurfs Studio Tours ride where we were mesmerized by all the adorable blue creatures as well as the bad guy, Gargamel, and his cat, Azreal.
Columbia Pictures is right next to the Smurf Village.
Below is the Flint's Imagination Lab, an indoor interactive attraction aimed to younger guests.
Initially I thought both Jerlene and Javier had out-grown such indoor playground but they still seem to enjoy it.
We then visited the World's only hotel for monster, Hotel Transylvania.  It was a cool dark ride.
By this time, we were quite hungry and we started looking for food outlets.
Below were what we had for our lunch.
After lunch, we continued our adventure by going on the Ghostbusters Ride: Battle of New York.
This is a fun ride as we got to use laser gun to shoot at all the "ghosts".  As there was no queue, we continuously went two rounds.
The next ride that we took was a river rapid-based water ride, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: River Expedition.  This ride was closed in the morning but fortunately it opened after lunch.
Without putting on ponchos, we were all getting ready to get WET!  :-)
Dreamworks Studio is the next area that we went on to "conquer".
Before entering this indoor theme park, we took some photos with those popular DreamWorks Animation characters.
Once we entered, a majestic and multi-sensory fountain (Fountain of Dreams) welcomed us to DreamWorks as sculptures of characters from Shrek, Madagascar, How to Train your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda come to life.
The first ride we took in this section of the park is Shrek's Merry Fairy Tale Journey ride whereby we entered into the storybook world of Shrek and Fiona.
After the ride, we had a photo taken with Shrek wearing a Christmas hat.
Then Jerlene and mommy went on to participate in the Swamp Celebration whereby they joined Shrek and Fiona for a fun spin around the swamp as they celebrate an unusual birthday party for their adorable triplets.
How can a theme park be without a Merry-Go-Round, right?
Madagascar Mad Pursuit ride is actually one of the more popular thrill rides here but because it goes 360 degree turn, none of us dare to go on the ride.  :-P
Instead, we chose to go on the Penguin Air ride where we took off on the Penguin aircraft from the movie Madagascar.
Next we came to the Kung Fu Panda section.  The Kung Fu Panda: Unstoppable Awesomeness ride is truely awesome as we climbed aboard a crazy adventure to the Furious Five on a state-of-the-art 4D simulator.
Jerlene and myself particularly liked the Dragon Gliders ride and we went up twice.  In this ride, Toothless and Hiccup gave us a ride through enthralling caves, spooky forbidden island and the astonishing Great Hall in the movie "How to Train a Dragon".

Finally, we went on Mr. Ping's Noodle Fling teacup for a spin.
The last studio that we visited in the park was Lionsgate.  It's the smallest section in the park with only two rides.  By the time we completed Lionsgate Studio, it was already pretty late and we had one more theme park to cover.  We quickly left Motiongate and walked over to the next park, Bollywood.
Following is a compilation of some of the rides in Motiongate.
