11 Dec 2019 - Dubai Day 1: The Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa Light Show

The Dubai Fountain is the world's largest and tallest performing fountain.  It is set on the 12 hectare (30 acre) man-made Burj Khalifa Lake and was designed by WET Design, a California-based company also responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas.
Some interesting facts.  The Dubai Fountain can spray 22,000 gallons (83,000 liters) of water in the air at any moment. More than 6,600 lights and 25 colour projectors have been installed.  The beam of light from the fountain can be seen from over 20 miles away.  The fountain can shoot water under the most pressure to 500 ft (152.4 m) in the air.
Performances take place at 1:00 pm and at 1:30 pm as well as every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 10 pm on weekdays, and from 6 pm to 11 pm on weekends (weekends being Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
Besides the fountain show, there is also a new LED show that lights up the Burj Khalifa in Dubai since September this year.  The tower will come to life with two themed LED shows starting daily from 7.45pm to 10.45pm - every 30 minutes on weekends (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), and every hour on weekdays.
Below video captures the amazing Dubai Fountain show and a short clip of the LED show.
After watching the fountain performance, we walked around the lake which was beautifully decorated, especially with all the Christmas lighting.
As we did not have any proper dinner, we decided to pop into Starbucks to have some snacks and drinks before walking back to our apartment to rest for the day.
