11 Dec 2019 - Dubai Day 1: First Impression of Dubai Mall

Once we crossed the main road outside of our apartment, we immediately saw an incredibly tall building standing right in front of us.  It is none other than Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, as of now.  It is situated just next to Dubai Mall and we will be visiting it in two days time.
Dubai Mall, one of the largest malls in the world, is located in the heart of the prestigious Downtown Dubai.  It is the most-visited retail and entertainment destination, which has over 1,300 retail outlets and over 200 food and beverage outlets.
This mall is really massive and after walking around for about an hour, I think we only covered probably 10-20% of the entire mall.  While we were on the Taxi from the airport to our apartment, the Taxi driver said that he has been in Dubai for several years and has yet to cover this entire mall.
Cannot resist taking a photo at a shop featuring my favourite football club, LFC.  YNWA!
At one point, we came across a Nutella shop, which is Javier's favourite.
The Dubai Mall offers an unparalleled retail variety combined with world-class dining, entertainment and leisure attractions, which includes a world-class Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, a VR Park - the first-of-its-kind attraction in Middle East, KidZania®, a Cinemas Megaplex and an Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink.  A part of the Aquarium is actually visible to Dubai Mall visitors.
Above the Aquarium showcase the Guinness World Record for the largest OLED Screen.
We spent quite some time to find our way to the Dubai Fountain, which I'll share the details in my next post.
