18 Apr 2026 - CKG Day 1: Breathtaking Chongqing Drone Show (重庆无人机表演)

Chongqing Drone Light Show takes flight every Saturday night at 8:30 p.m., painting the sky for about 20 minutes. The performance took place directly above the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, a natural amphitheater that offers several fantastic vantage points. Located directly across from the skyline, Nanbin Road, where we were, provides the most balanced perspective, allowing us to see the drones perfectly framed against the backdrop of the iconic Raffles City.

The drones launched from the platform at the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Hall on the south bank of the river. 

The drone light show was spectacular, and the photos below cannot do enough justice to what we actually saw.

We did not leave the place immediately after the drone show because the post-show rush was chaotic. We tried calling for a DiDi ride but no driver responded. I believe all the drivers understand the situation here and will try to avoid these areas during this time. 

After about 30 minutes, the crowd had dispersed and the roadblock was gradually removed. We decided to slowly walk back to the metro station and take the metro back to our hotel.
