The journey from Jiangbei International Airport to our hotel in Chongqing took about 30 minutes. It was about 2:20am by the time we reached Park Inn by Radisson at Yuzhong district (渝中区).
Due to the wee hours, the hotel lobby was totally empty. We booked this hotel mainly due to its location. Several key landmarks are within walking distance from the hotel. More importantly, the MRT station is located right next to it. And of course, the price was very reasonable too. :-)
Park Inn occupies the 17th to 20th floor of the building. We had made a booking for a Cozy Queen Room (the cheapest option) with no window but the moment we entered the room, we were surprised to see windows right in front of the bed. It seemed like they had given us a free upgrade to a Leisure Smart Room, which costs more than double of what we had paid.
As it was really late and we were so tired, we did not unpack much and went straight to our dreamland.
We woke up at about 8:30am in the morning and had a nice view from our hotel room window. The unique building that looks like our Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is Chongqing Raffles City (重庆来福士). After reading up on both the buildings, we realized both shared the same architect, Moshe Safdie.
The reason this room is called Leisure Smart Room is that almost everything in the room can be remotely controlled from the comfort of the bed. I took a short video (below) for a quick demonstration. It was also quite "shiok" to watch shows on such a big projector TV screen. And we could cast our favourite shows from our phone to the screen via the room WiFi.
