17 Apr 2026 - Embarking on a 6 Night 6 Days Trip to Chongqing (重庆)

Around this time last year, we travelled to Nagoya for a short break which was nice. This year, we decided to take another short break to Chongqing. Our flight departed at about 8pm and estimated to arrive at Chongqing at 1:15am.

We had our dinner served shortly after take-off. There was a special dinner menu called Shi Quan Wei Mei (十全为美) on this flight, and we decided to try it. Following was what we had.

Side Dish: Spicy Garlic Hot Bean Pickled Cabbage

Cold Appetiser: Eel and Salted Egg Roll with Spicy Asparagus Mushroom Salad

Main Course: Red Bean Curd Braised Pork Ribs, with Chinese Broccoli and Pumpkin Rice

Dessert: Creamy Roasted Walnuts Soup with Pearl Sago

Fruit Palette to complete the meal.

The overall taste of this meal was pretty good for us, but I must admit that not everyone will appreciate it. We especially loved the dessert.

We landed at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (重庆江北国际机场) at about 1:10am. Due to the odd hours, we had booked an Airport Transfer to our hotel in Chongqing.

Below is our itinerary for this 6 Days Chongqing Adventure.

Day 1: Check-in to Park Inn, Exploring Jiefangbei (解放碑) Area, Shibati (十八梯), Baixiangju (白象居), People's Park (人民公园), Chongqing Noodle (重庆小面), Chongqing Drone Show (无人机表演)

Day 2: Liziba Station (李子坝轻轨穿楼), Liziba Bomb Shelter (李子坝防空洞 - 岩之魂), Chongqing Hotpot (重庆火锅), Liziba Park - the Relics of Anti-Japanese War (李子坝抗战遗址公园), Liziba Underground Gold Vault (李子坝抗战遗址地下金库), Eling Park (鹅岭公园) and Eling Walking Bridge (鹅岭栈桥), Ciqikou Ancient Town (磁器口古镇)

Day 3: Chongqing Chaotianmen (重庆朝天门), Hongya Cave (洪崖洞), Kuixinglou (魁星楼), Mountain City Alley (山城巷), Hongya Cave Lights Up (洪崖洞亮灯), Chongqing Night View

Day 4: Chongqing Morning View, Chongqing Grand Theatre (重庆大剧院) and Zeke Mall (氏泽科购物广场店), Danzishi Old Street (弹子石老街), Longmenhao Old Street (龙门浩老街), Xiahao Lane (下浩里)

Day 5: Journey to Wulong (武隆), Fairy Mountain (仙女山大草原), Fairy Mountain Town (仙女山镇), Three Natural Bridges (天生三桥), Aerial View of Wulong (飞阅武隆), Impression Wulong (印象武隆), Check-in to Daweiying Holiday Hotel (大卫营度假酒店)

Day 6: Longshuixia Fissure Gorge (龙水峡地缝), Chiyou Jiulicheng (蚩尤九黎城), Wujiang Gallery (乌江画廊), Gongtan Ancient Town (龚滩古镇), Journey back to Jiefangbei (解放碑), Chongqing Grilled Fish (重庆烤鱼), Journey Home
