16 Nov 2022 - Day 3: (Kangaroo Island) Prospect Hill

After a short drive from Brown Beach, we reached the base of Prospect Hill.  The hill was named Prospect Hill as when Matthew Flinders was exploring Southern Australia in 1802, he rowed to the end of Pelican Lagoon and walked to the top of the hill to view more of the island.
Visitors can now climb the 500 steps up to the top of Prospect Hill, the highest point on Kangaroo Island, which we did.
We took a few breaks while climbing up the hill.  We had some amazing views even before we were at the top of the hill.
Since this morning, Jerlene had not been feeling too well and felt very cold.  She seemed to be having slight fever but even so, it did not stop her to be the first to reach the hilltop.  In this trip, she had shown that she had the most stamina among the four of us.
We took about 20 mins to climb the 500 steps and finally made it to the hilltop viewing platform.
Views from the top include panoramic views of Pelican lagoon and Pennington Bay.  It was simply awesome and definitely worth the effort for the climb.
In the photo below, the left side is a lake and right side is the sea.
After spending 10 mins admiring the incredible views, we began our climb down the 500 steps.
