Our plan for today was to drive towards Mount Gambier while taking breaks along the way at some interesting places and towns. The first stop of the day is a Replica of an Oil Rig at Salk Creek.
This monument has been constructed to commemorate the contribution the oil industry has made to the development of South Australia. It is built at Salt Creek in recognition of the first Australian oil well drilled here in 1866.
