It's another 30 mins drive from Cape Willoughby Lightstation to Brown Beach, our next stop. For those who are interested and would like to follow this itinerary, do take note that if you follow the instruction from Google Maps app to Brown Beach, it will lead you into the bushes. At the T-Junction of E W Road and Hog Bay Road, instead of turning right then left according to Google Maps, you should turn left then right into an unsealed road.
Brown Beach is located on the north coast of Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island. This is not a popular tourist spot, and we were the only souls on the beach.I read about this beach from a travel blog and the blogger came here for the wildlife and fish.
Part of the beach has some incredible rock formations.
These rock caves resemble those that we saw at Port Willunga Beach earlier in the day. However, the Port Willunga Beach Caves are man-made while these rock caves at Brown Beach are definitely natural. As we walked further down the beach, we saw rocks with many layers, likely due to centuries of wind erosion.
We also saw many shelled creatures clinging onto the rocks along the beach.Brown Beach is sheltered, and the sea water is very clear and calm. It's definitely a great swimming spot at the part of the beach where it is not so rocky.
