Our next stop in Flinders Chase National Park is Weirs Lookout. We first arrived at the ruins of a storage building in Weirs Cove.
From 1907 to the early 1930s, most supplies came to the light-keepers and their families only every three months. Everything, from food to fuel, was stored until needed. There could be no replacement of goods until the next steamship arrived.The stone walls actually kept the building relatively cool.
Outside of the storehouse is a lookout platform where we had a breathtaking view of the entire Weirs Cove.
If you zoom in the photo below and look at the cliff at very right end, you can vaguely see the Remarkable Rocks, our next stop.
