A 3-minutes' drive from The Grotto brought us to another unique offshore rock formation within Port Campbell National Park, the London Bridge and the Arch.
The London Bridge was once a double bridge connected to the mainland, and on 15th of January 1990, part of the bridge collapsed into the ocean, leaving behind a chunk of land isolated in the ocean. Today, visitors can enjoy the stunning formation from two viewing platforms. The collapse of the London Bridge highlights the everchanging structure of this coast, with the rocky sandstone cliff shoreline slowly crumbling and shifting in structure due to the continuous erosion of weather and sea, transforming the region into a new sight every century or so.
