20 Nov 2022 - Day 7: (Grampians) Broken Falls and MacKenzie Falls

Our next stop is MacKenzie Falls, which is a short 10-minute drive from Reed Lookout.  The moment we walked out of the car park, it started raining once again.
However, that did not stop us from exploring the area.
We first followed a short (500 metre) track through open stringybark forest to the Broken Falls Lookout.  It is just upstream from MacKenzie Falls, in Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park
The cantilevered lookout on the edge of the gorge offers sweeping views of the river tumbling over the wide, dissipated waterfall.
We then walked towards MacKenzie Falls but sadly, we were not able to walk to the base of MacKenzie Falls due to recent flooding in the area.  Furthermore, the rain started getting heavier and it'll be pretty dangerous to walk down the steep path.  Anyway, we had a quick view of MacKenzie Falls from a lookout above it.
After we returned to our car, we decided to drive back to our accommodation to check out how Javier was doing.
