Based on our original plan, we were supposed to head out early this morning but since Jerlene was not feeling too well last night, we decided to let her sleep a bit longer. As such, we made a slight change to our plan. Instead of visiting the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, we decided to visit the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, which is a family-owned business and a popular Kangaroo Island tourist attraction since 1991.
There are plenty of history and distilling process to read in the shop.
There is also a Emu Ridge Café which offers a great casual dining experience using their region's local produce. From the cafe, visitors are able to look out to the outdoor grass field where wild kangaroos are roaming around.
Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery is the only commercial Eucalyptus Oil distillery in South Australia, and we produce 100% pure Australian Eucalyptus Essential Oil from the Kangaroo Island Narrow Leaf Mallee, along with a range of natural products available through our farm gate retail shop, craft gallery and online store.
