Blending colonial-era architecture with modern storytelling, National Museum of Taiwan Literature celebrates the island’s rich literary heritage across languages, cultures, and centuries. Completed in 1916 during the Japanese colonial period, the building originally served as the Tainan Prefectural Government Office. Its stately Baroque-style façade, symmetrical design, and prominent central dome make it one of the most eye-catching structures in central Tainan.
Taiwan’s literary history is unique because it spans multiple languages and political eras. The museum features a mix of permanent and rotating exhibitions.Interactive displays, multimedia installations, and original manuscripts make the experience engaging even for non-literature enthusiasts.
The museum was quite huge and we were unable to complete several sections of the museum.
