21 Dec 2025 - TPE Day 1: What Drama!!!

There was a "drama" at the start of this trip.  After we returned to our accommodation tonight, we found that the number lock on one of our luggage could not be unlocked. Initially we thought the number code was somehow being "messed up", which happened to us once before. A while later, we realized that this luggage looked 99% like ours but it's actually not. The brand, the color and even the condition of the luggage looked the same. At that moment, we quickly made a call to the airport lost and found services, with the help of the hotel receptionist. After some checks, the airport staff told us that they had no record of our luggage. Very likely, someone else had taken our luggage as well. In such situation, the airport would not be able to help and advised us to try to contact the other passenger who likely took our luggage. In order to contact the passenger, we would need help from the airline. As it's already very late, we decided to return to the airport the next morning to get help from the airline counter.

Early next morning, we were glad that we managed to get hold of the airline station manager who was extremely helpful. Based on the baggage tag, he and his staff were able to identify the passenger and reach out to her. Funny thing was that when she picked up the call, she's still not aware that she had taken a wrong luggage after almost 24 hours. Unfortunately, she had already left Taipei and would not be able to bring my luggage back to the airport for an exchange.  Eventually, I had to deliver her luggage to her lodging in Taichung via delivery service while she would deliver mine to my accommodation in Kaohsiung.  What a drama at the start of our trip. Sigh.....
