In one of my earlier posts regarding a "drama" that happened on day one, we need to go get some clothing for the next 2 days till we get back our luggage in Kaohsiung. On our way to the 24 hours Carrefour Guilin Store, there were some interesting structures such as a Bell Pavilion below.
One small but easily missed detail added an unexpected layer of interest, which is the decorative manhole covers embedded in the pavement. These manhole covers often feature distinct patterns and emblems rather than plain industrial designs. Some incorporate Taipei city symbols, stylised text, or geometric motifs that reflect the city’s infrastructure departments. Others may include subtle references to local history or district identity, turning a purely functional object into a quiet piece of street art.
