We started the day with local breakfast at a nearby Yonghe Dou Jiang store. Yonghe Dou Jiang refers to a beloved style of soymilk shops that trace their roots to Yonghe District in New Taipei City and are now found all across Taipei. At the center of every Yonghe Dou Jiang menu is soy milk (豆漿), served either hot or cold, and sweet or savory.
We also ordered Shaobing (燒餅), which is a flaky, sesame-topped flatbread, filled with egg, beef, ham or bacon for extra texture. It's really good.
This particular store does not have proper seating, and we ate at the standing table outside the store.Actually, this was not our first time eating at Yonghe Dou Jiang store. The last time we had a meal at Yonghe Dou Jiang was during our Beijing trip.
