We started our day late and went straight for lunch after leaving our room. Hidden in the food court basement (B1) of the HOYII Taipei Main Station complex on Zhongxiao West Road, which is just next to our accommodation, Menya Musashi’s Main Store brought Japanese ramen tradition right into the bustle of Taipei’s transport hub. This branch is part of the Menya Musashi family, a chain that began in Tokyo in the 1990s and quickly became famous for its distinctive soups and quality noodles.

What's popular here is the ramen broth that leans toward a rich, chicken-based “white soup” (濃白湯) that’s full-bodied but not overly heavy. Bowls were served with tender chashu pork, perfectly cooked noodles, and a range of toppings like ajitama seasoned egg or seasonal specials.

Because it's so close to Taipei Main Station, this ramen shop is a favourite for both visitors and locals who want a quick, satisfying bowl without sacrificing flavour.
