Before reaching our hotel, we arrived at Green River Waterfront, which was similar to the Liuchuan Riverside Walk where we strolled along earlier in the afternoon.
The Taichung Green River Waterfront project was part of the city’s broader “Green River Revitalization Plan,” aimed at reconnecting residents with the river’s urban environment. Once heavily polluted, the Green River was cleaned and reengineered to improve water quality and biodiversity.
As night fell, the soft LED installations all around the canal illuminated the water surfaces, stepping stones, surrounding walkways and decorative art features along the banks.
One of the most photogenic moments was when the water was still enough to mirror all the lightings around.
