29 Dec 2025 - TCH Day 9: Yizhong Street Night Market (一中街夜市)

From Google map, we noticed there was a nearby night market along Yizhong street. Initially we just wanted to go take a quick look thinking that it may not have opened for business yet at this time (about 4:20pm). However, we realized we were wrong once we entered the street.  Every stall was opened and crowds started to gather.

Located near Taichung First Senior High School and several colleges, this bustling district is where students gather after class to eat, shop, and hang out late into the evening. Because it caters heavily to students, prices are generally reasonable, and portions are generous.

Yizhong Street Night Market may not be the biggest in Taiwan, but it captures the everyday social life of Taichung’s younger generation.
